ADCC 2007: the new Submission Fighting World Champions.
An exciting edition of finals with extraordinary fights and some surprising issues. Inexorable and devasting, Marcelo Garcia submits 7 opponents and loses just the final Open against the american Robert Drysdale.
Among women Hannette Quadros comes to the limelight, winning her category and the final Open.

ISSUES OF THE FIRST DAY:

First day animated by the high technical level of athlets with many submissions and some surprises. Marcelo Garcia was in excellent shape and submitted both of the first two opponents and the same was done by Andre Galvao. Guest of the last moment, Mike Fowler, astonished everyone defeating Renzo Gracie (with 2 negativities to 0) and breaking himself free from the terrible rear naked choke of Saulo Ribeiro and defeating him by a foot-lock.

In a good shape also Leo Vieira, Braulio Estima, Marcio Pe de Pano, Fabricio Werdum, Barret Yoshida, all the semifinalists who expressed at one's best.

Among women Megumi Fuji, Kyra Gracie, Tara La Rosa, Hannette Quadros, Kelly Paul and Penny Thomas qualifying with good performances and submitting their opponents. Tomorrow semifinals and finals, the Open Class and the awaited super fight between Roger Gracie and Jon Olav Einemo, return match of ADCC 2003 where Einemo defeated Gracie in the semifinal for the - 99 Kg title.

the qualification trials to the adcc world finals, hosted in south africa for the first time. the tournement, taken during the last week end, had the following winners:
